 -Where are you from?

My usual response is Richmond, VA but I’m actually from a smaller town called Mechanicsville….Jason Mraz put us slightly on  the map!

-Where did you go to school and what did you study?

I graduated from Longwood University where I received my degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science.

-What is your favorite sport to watch? To play?

I love to watch extreme sports like X-Games. I used to play Soccer so I’ll go with that!

-Why did you become an agent with New York Life?

I wanted a career with growth potential and where I could help people plan for their futures.

-Can you recommend service providers who can help me obtain a mortgage, financial advising, and help with other things I need done?

Absolutely! New York Life agents are financial quarterbacks. We’ve built networks with other service professionals such as CPAs, realtors, mortgage brokers, attorneys, etc., who specialize in their individual fields. We see how all of these pieces fit together, in a bigger picture, for our clients.

 – What advice can you give to a young couple expecting their first child?

Get your sleep in now. All jokes aside, get life insurance. As new parents you’re responsible for the welfare of your child. Parents often plan for a caretaker in the event that something happens to them but don’t often think about the financial burden that’s left in their absence. Don’t take that chance.

 – Why is life insurance so important?

It’s the greatest love letter ever written. Sounds a bit cheesy but if you were to ask anyone who’s had to utilize their loved one’s life insurance they can attest to this. Emotional stress does not have to mean financial stress but financial stress will always lead to emotional stress. Life insurance guarantees your loved ones won’t have to deal with financial hardships in the event of your loss.

 – What music do you like?

Almost everything: lately I’ve been on a real country kick!

-Where is your favorite RVA hot spot?

It’s hard to narrow it down to just one.

-Best restaurant in the area?

I love Mama Zu’s but you can’t beat Millie’s for brunch.

-Last meal on earth would be?

Thin crust veggie pizza with Jack’s Hard Cider and frozen yogurt for dessert…now I’m hungry.

-What do you wish you had invented?

I wish I could invent calorie-free pizza, now that you’ve gotten me thinking about it.

-What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about helping people, more specifically, truly educating and helping families. Exercise, nutrition, and overall health have also always been big passions of mine.

-Why should I choose to work with you?

The better question is why wouldn’t you? I’m not afraid to tell you if I don’t know the answer to something but I am driven enough to find it because I genuinely want what’s best for you and your family. Plus, I’m supported by a team of specialists and a company that’s built its expertise over 168 years.

-What’s your business philosophy?

Warren Buffet once said, “Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” I want to work hard today to make a difference for people’s lives for years to come. Wake up, kick ass, and repeat.
