Ty is a Chesterfield native which adds to his credibility as being your RVA realtor. After speaking with him it’s obvious that he is passionate about his work and will take good care of his clients. I had the pleasure of closing a deal with Ty this week and look forward to many more!
-Where are you from?
Born and raised here in Chesterfield, VA.
-Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I graduated from Manchester High School in 2006. I then attended Hampden-Sydney College and graduated in 2010 where I earned my BA in Economics and a Minor in Rhetoric.
-What is your favorite sport to watch? To play?
College football where every game matters. I played College football at Hampden-Sydney College.
-Why did you become a real estate agent?
Getting involved in real estate has always been a goal, and I want to make the home buying process easier for my clients.
-Can you recommend service providers who can help me obtain a mortgage, make home repairs, and help with other things I need done?
I know multiple lenders that can satisfy all your mortgage needs, as well as contractors that can make upgrades or repairs. Growing up in Chesterfield has giving me the opportunity to meet many local contractors that do great work.
-Describe your dream home?
My dream home does not have to be huge, but I would love to have access to or live on a body of water. Ideally, my dream home would sit on a good chunk of land to where I can hunt and fish on my own land.
-What are your favorite areas of RVA (and surrounding areas) for a young single professional looking to buy a home?
For young professionals, the museum district and surrounding areas would be a great spot to buy a home. You are in the middle of a thriving restaurant scene, as well as many historic attractions.
-What about for a family?
There are many great family destinations outside of the city, whether that is in the West End or Midlothian and Chesterfield areas, which have great school districts. Hallsley, Woodlake, Summerlake, and Birkdale are just a few of the great family communities in the Midlothiand/Chesterfield area. There are also some great parks in the surrounding areas that are perfect for family outings.
-Empty nesters looking to downsize?
There are many great maintenance free communities in the area that are great for empty nesters looking to relax and enjoy their new freedom.
– What advice can you give to a first time homebuyer?
I always tell my first time homebuyers to make sure they fully understand how the process of buying a home works and to get pre-approved by a lender to streamline the process. I have information packets that I give to all first time homebuyers that can help answer any questions.
– What music do you like?
All I listen to is Country music and Classic Rock. I am a big CCR fan.
-Where is your favorite RVA hot spot?
I always have a good time down at Rockets Landing. The scenery is beautiful down there, and the restaurants are top notch.
-Best restaurant in the area?
I live in Chesterfield, and my “go-to” spot is Glory Days. Everything on the menu taste amazing and the atmosphere is great, especially during football season. If I were going somewhere nice downtown, I would choose Conch Republic.
-What do you wish you had invented?
I wish I had invented a time machine, so I could go back and witness some of the great moments in history. I am still working on this invention.
-What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
Finding and closing on a home for my first client will always stand out in my mind. I was just as excited as my client!
-Why should I choose you to sell my home?
I am young and eager. I will do whatever it takes to sell your home as quickly as possible. I also have a great support system at Hometown Realty to help with the sale of your home.
-Why should I choose you to find my home?
Again, I am young and eager, but I have also grown up in this area my entire life. I feel that I can find a home in an area that fits you well.
-What’s your business philosophy?
Buying and selling a home is one of the most important decisions you will make in life. It can often be both exciting and stressful. I want to make the process as smooth as possible while putting your interest first and keeping you informed throughout the process.
